    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;i have a vaio laptop computer running windows 7 ,and i have been told that i can't connect a 2tb desktop hdd&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;running off the mains as it could damage the laptop .is that so ? if so i will have to make do with a 1tb hdd running from the 2.0 usb socket . &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;dontgiveadamm .&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 12pt;"&gt;As long as the external drive has its own power source, I don't think there is any problem connecting a 2TB (or even 3TB) 3.5 inch hard drive to your laptop's USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 or eSATA port.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 12pt;"&gt;I expect 2TB 2.5 inch external drives will be along very soon.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.co.uk/html/@0248C33DDCF34AA61B8F8F33F5AFA5BE/images/smilies/013.png" alt=":wink:" title=":wink:" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
