The video is cricket that's in my SkyHD box. So it can come out of the Red-White-Yellow jacks (Composite?) or HDMI.

I also saw this

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hdpvr.html

but it does not mention HDMI. Any thoughts?

It's about the same price.

Further thought: if there is a solution that will enable saving content in my SkyHD to BluRay (inc. 5.1) then that would justify the cost.

Any ideas?

The Blackmagic box (HDMI link earlier in the thread) has these reported issues. Looked attractive at first.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B003V0I22E/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_helpful?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

Apparently too far ahead of it's time?

Message was edited by: hidesil

Message was edited by: hidesil

Video from the Composite output (Yellow) is not HD Video it is just standard analogue definition - not even digital. The maximum resolution possible is 576i.

This is the best you will get as Sky go to great lengths to stop you transferring HD Video from their Sky Box to any other recorder.

If you want to capture analogue video there are very inexpensive ways to do it from £6: -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Video-Acquisition-Card-Adapter/dp/B002H3BSCM/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1309267069&sr=1-1

but you would be better to get something more reliable - Google for USB Video Capture.
