I have installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit on my vgn-fe31h but i cant get my camera to work any suggestions please?

Which Camera Driver and which Vaio Camera Utilities have you installed?

The original XP camera driver should work but you will also need to install the Vista Vaio Camera Utilities as there is no support for Windows 7.

Sony visual communication camera VGP-VCC1

Driver provider VIMICRO

Driver date 29/12/2005

Driver version 321.1.1229.12

apart from the above cant find anything else. Please help pulling my hair out here

From memory this has been a problem with your model in the past when upgrading to Vista - particularly Vista Ultimate. Sony changed the camera software for Vista and there were many difficulties.

As there is no Windows 7 support for your model, you will have to try the Vista fixes and hope they work with Windows 7.

1. Check that the camera is installed in Device Manager -> Imaging Devicesas the Sony Visual Communications Camera VGP-VCC1. (Looks like this is OK).

2. Install Vaio Camera Utility 2.0. 02.05140 from the Vista Updates for your model here: -

3. Install Vaio Camera Capture Utility 2.2.03.11150 from the Vista Updates for the VGN-FE41S (sold with Vista installed) from here: -

Good Luck - No Guarantees I'm afraid but it works for some!!

Unfortunatly it didnt work back to the drawing board.

Do you think they will get a fix for this eventually?
