Green charge indicator has disappeared!

Hi Guys,

I have a VGN-FW21L and recently had to have it repaired due to the hard-drive failing. Once it was returned, the laptop was back to its factory state. All drivers were re-installed including sony software.

BUT

The power light next to the power button just stays on orange when the laptop is on! I seem to have lost the green light! When the battery needs charging, the light will flash red even though its on and not in sleep mode.

I know its working but after being use to having a green light when on, green flashing light when the battery needs charging when on. Red light on when charging the laptop in sleep mode and flashing red when needs charging in sleep mode.

Have i missed a driver to control the lights? Sorry if i sound stupid, i just can't seem to get my head round this problem!

Hi Danny,

Does it work on battery?

I would contact Vaio Support as this problem may have been caused by the repair and may get more serious if the battery or power board has been damaged in some way. It sounds like a wire has been disconnected.
