VAIO File Import Service stopped working

Hi,

I've had my VGN- CR21z/R about 5 months now and everytime i start up i get the error " vaio entertainment file import service had stopped working" . does anyone knw how to make this stop as it seems to stall my notebook until i close the error window. highly frustrating!!

also, on startup i hear the vista logo sound, once in vista i have no sound, i checked my drivers are up to date and it says they are, the volume control shows all the volume levels are up and device manager shows no errors, any ideas?

Not sure about the sound - seems odd - has it never worked? or did you install something and then is stopped working?

As for the Entertainment Platform try installing this update - restarting and then installing this one.

If this doesn't have any effect try this update .

Hi,

Thanks i installed two of the updates and the error seems to have stopped.

As for the sound problem, after hours of trying to figure it out it turns out that Vista is to blame, downloading the new SP1 changes driver settings. a quick reinstall of my sound drivers fixed it

lets hope no more problems arise!
