mouse problem, pointing device

Help pls.formated my laptop and cant seem to get the pointing device to work, have installed all the drivers from vaio.com but still dosent work, i now have an intelli mouse 3.0 usb but really want the pointing device to work. i can enable the device in vaio control center but doset work, have tried to reset driver and install agian, still no luck

any ideas? pls help

Assuming your using Vista you should go to this LINK and download and install the driver for your pointing device.

Tell me if it works.

To check if your pointing device is enabled do the following:
Right click on the computer icon (depending where you left it desktop or startmenu)
-->properties
-->device manager-->
mice and other pointing devices

See if it's enabled and the correct driver installed. See picture for how it looks like. i also have the same laptop as you so whe should have the same stuff.

my driver date is 2005-05-17 and version is 5.3.512.4
cant update driver to the download you posted, it says theere no better matching driver.
and im using xp now, didnt work with vista either.

Are you still using the original Sony supplied Windows XP Media Centre Edition.?
