sleep not working correctly after android update

Hi,

My problem is that after the recent android software update to 4.4.4 my tablet does not enter sleep when closing my sony tablet case.
Closing the case turns it on!
With the case closed, it can't be seen to be on, it completely drains the battery.
In order to put the tablet into sleep I must leave the case open.
This renders the expensive case worse than useless.

This happens with my tablet and the Z2 tablet my son uses so it is not due to a hardware fault but due to the recent software update.

Can anyone advise on a method to fix this please?

There appears to be no way of changing this in settings.

Hi, got the same here with tablet xperia z2 (wifi only) I don't before Android 4.4.4 update because I was not using the cover, but I confirmed close the cover don't put the tablet in sleep mode. Wake up the tablet works well but screen stays on at closure. Need a fix... Thank you
