How do I turn off the startup sound on my Xperia tablet?

Ever since the last update, my tablet plays an annoying little jingle.

I looked everywhere in the settings, nothing.

I downloaded the manual, nothing.

Im ready to throw the thing, but I love it too much.

Someone please tell me how to end this madness!

you can not change that, but then again, you don't have to turn off your tablet everyday

Sony makes you believe! After preesiing the power button hide your tablet z under you bed or leave your tablet and go to your next room and close the door and make believe there is no sound

This is unacceptable. I turn it off when I charge it.

Sony needs to give us the OPTION to at least change the sound.

At least that way I could select 'none' (as with ALL notifications)

Creative suggestion, but how would I do that (before) it powered up? Alchemy? LOL I honestly JUST noticed the mod's avatar after posting hahaha. But seriously, this is very annoying. It wasn't like this before the last update & NEEDS to be removed or implement an option to shut off.

Thanks for the link Alexdon,

I just spoke with them and they informed me that the issue is with the Android version.

Apparently there were several issues with the update.

Google is working on a resolution & will release a patch when they are available.

nothing to do with google it's the bootanimation.zip file that have the sound file in it..... need to remove the bootanim.mp3 file and the sound is gone .....

Agree! Hate the whole 'new' start up and have lessened my use of tablet since 😕 this should have been added as an optional extra and not

as some forced 'improvement'. That loud announcement sound is embarrassing and dated. Not impressed Sony!

My young son watches his youtube videos on the tablet until there is no battery. You're solution while simple and obvious doesnt work in this house. Smothering the tablet with several pillows is by far the better if not even more ridiculous solution! This is not 1992 and I dont need to bell whistling all dancing sound to announce to all around me that I'm turning on the tablet.
