I have just updated to android 7.0 and the play store no longer loads.

On Googling the problem I decided to install a version that was supposedly the right one for nougat. At first I kept getting a, message that the file was corrupt. I then disabled the original version and tried again to install the new version. It did install but still does not open. I also saw references to the need to have the right version of play services. I found what seemed to be the correct version of it and had the same problem of a "corrupt file". I can see no way of disabling the app so now I'm stuck.

For reference I also went the route of clearing data and caches, altering the time, using the battery saver,....no difference.

Help!

*** Just solved my own problem with a soft reboot. Should no doubt have done that first. Why didn't Google tell me that?!! ***
