Real Luddite here so please use simple terms 😉

Just bought a Sony 49" KD-49XE7002, replaces a steam driven TV so a lot to learn.

Last night recorded a music concert on the virgin Media TiVo box and replayed it this morning, very poor sound, the main performers Mike did not seem to be working?

Played with settings and noticed when II press the Auidio button the pop up scrolls through A1080i B1080i and Stereo and on B and Stereo the sound is perfect!

So, is it just me, should I just leave the TV set on Stereo or???? Does it auto detect or should I change it depending on what I watch. Love the TV and improvement in quality but a lot to learn. Many thanks for any advice. Colin

Hi again,

Probably the sound on A uses surround sound that might sound a little weird depending on TV settings (e.g. virtual surround, etc.). When using B or Stereo the signal is played back with 2 channel sound only which might sound more common. Anyway, when connecting a soundbar or a surround sound receiver the sound from A might sound fantastic.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
