Sony KD-55X8005C 55 inch 4K UHD...Stopped working

My son has the above 55” TV that is 3 1/2 years old, but as he is in the army, and away from home a lot, has been hardly used. On leave and the odd weekend etc etc.

It has all of a sudden just stopped. No stand by light, nothing.

checked fuse in plug, tried a few things found on Google, pulling plug out for few mins, removing batteries from remote and holding down button for few mins etc etc.

It was purchased from Amazon, and I see that Sony offers a 5 year guarantee, but not sure if his comes under that???

I’m really miffed that it has gone so soon, and after not really being used much, and to be honest, it puts me right off Sony products.

Any idea’s you techy lot.

Well, Sony emailed me with a couple of things to try and factory reset everything.

unplug for 2 mins, whilst holding down power button and volume down button at same time, and plugging back in.

No luck.............no green LED light on front, nothing whatsoever.

Not guaranteed, so now I have 2 options.

Bin it, or take it to local TV repair guy.

not even my TV 🤨
