Hi,

have an Sony KDL-40EX700 that I discovered having a LAN-port on the back.

Can not however find in the manual what it is to be used for?

Anyone using it or knows what I can do with it?

The LAN port or ethernet port is so you can connect your TV to your router if you do not want to use WiFi.

I use the ethernet port on the back of my TV to stream content from my mac.

Hi Andeib,

The LAN port doesn't necessarily mean the TV can connect to the internet. It may also be used to play content over your local network (DLNA).
