Hi, do you think it is a good idea to upsmart a Sony KD-49XG7096 into Android? I need an app on my tv but this one is not able to have new apps because of the Linux operational system I am told. (And the web browser is not okay either to directly join that specific web site I need. DAZN by the way.) So I would need an Android but I am not sure whether a Fire Stick would do the job fine or I would need to get a Sony which operates with Android. Please advise - thank you.

You can buy a new Google TV also, the new "Fire Stick" from Google...

I am concerned about the KD-XG80.. series because some reviews say that they are not that smart after all, and uploading new apps is not that easy or even possible.

According to the sales page they're Android Smart TVs. Maybe take a look at this article for more information about app support.
