Your question is not really clear... Assuming you have your systems connected via HDMI-ARC and Braviasync enabled and speaker set to Audio system, there is no way of controlling the TV speaker simply because they are off. What you see on screen is the audio level of the soundbar divided by 2 (since the tv goes from 0 to 100 and the soundbar from 0 to 50)

I have a Sony HTCT770 2.1ch 330w HD Soundbar hooked up to a Sony Bravia KDL55W8.

Trouble is when I turn the sound up with the soundbar remote,it turns the TV volume up as well.It never did this before.

What settings do I use so that I can use each volume individually as before I don't really use the tv volume,I just want to use the soundbar volume.

Regards.

Hi there

If setup correctly, audio should not be going through the TVs speakers at all and only via the soundbar.

As you have connected other devices to the soundbar via HDMI Cable, you do not need the optical cables - which maybe confusing things. So remove them.

Ensure that 'Speakers' is set to 'Audio System' from the action menu.

Cheers
