White Indicator light keeps flashing on and off on BDV-N590 , no audio

When I turn on my theatre system the front white led light Usually flashes on and off for a bit before going solid white when it has connected my tv to the system.
recently all it is doing is constantly flashing on and off and nothing else. No audio, can’t unload an already loaded blueray disc..any thought?

Have you tried unplugging the system from the mains and leaving it to de-power from any excess charge for a couple of minutes, then trying to turn it on again?

I have the same issue with a sony e2100 and have seen this issue described several times, has anyone ever found a solution? All Sony say is take it to service centre
