Subtitle query on Sony svr 500 player

Need to use the subtitle feature on my player but find it has one really annoying feature, the subtitle caption on the screen continues broadcasting the speech, even when the person has finished talking , especially on adverts , the caption keeps showing until another person speaks, very off putting, this is the second of these recorders i have owned and both have been the same, is there any way of resetting the speech duration or something , ?

Can you share the support page or the official model number for the player and a video of what you're describing so we have a better understanding of what's going on (unlisted YouTube video would do the trick)?

Hi model no on player is svr-hdd500 am not savvy enough I am afraid to know how to display the problem .only to reiterate f a programme is being broadcast ,with subtitles and and a person is speaking , they wlll stop talking but the subtitle still appears on the screen and will stay there until another sentence is broadcast , on any programming that has adverts this subtitle can stay on well,into the showing of the advert , all very weird . Have tried cleaning disc , resetting player nothing works

Hey, I tried to find the model you provided as well : svr-hdd500 it's not listed on Sony's support page.. maybe you can take a picture of the sticker showing the model so that we can help?
