Microsoft will not install “image mastering API” software.

I am unable to use the One Touch Disc Burn feature, on my new HDR-CX115E as Microsoft advise my windows XP is not a genuine version and will not install the “image mastering api” software.

Is there an alternative to using this MS’s software?

technical support will not help if one is using a non genuine copy of windows xp !

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.

I know the easy way is to upgrade the operating system but at this stage it seems a waste as XP will not be supported for much longer and I'm contemplating an alternative to MS.

no, but if you cannot install the software because its not genuine then how is sony going to be able to help with that!
