topic Replacing hard drive on RDR-HXD970 in Home Cinema, Projectors & Players

The hard drive failed on my RDR-HXD970 DVE recorder. I read something on the internet saying it was easy to replace - just buy a new one and format it from system menu. I tried to do this, but obviously the person on the internet didn't know what they were talking about! Can anybody please tell me how to get the DVD recorder to recognize the new hard drive so it works OK?

NB - I bought the exact same Seagate hard drive, except I got a 500Gb instead of the original 250.

regards

you need to have access to the service menu and for doing it you need a specific remote (not the standard one). this can be simulated also by all-purpose remote (I have a Logitech Harmony 525 that works fine).

Attached you'll find the instruction, but please consider that you are doing it at your own risk.
