BBC Sounds being blocked by SONY?

Since purchasing my Xperia 1 VI I have been unable to listen to any BBC Sounds program.  This is due to the phone overlaying a repetitive beeping sound onto any BBC Sounds program.  My Honor phone does not do this so why does the Sony?
Is this the same restriction that TuneIn has placed on BBC channels?

What kind of BBC sounds? 

And does it do that with BBC only? 

Are you referring to BBC as an application on the phone or is it a website?
