I recently purchased a TP-Link RE655BE AP, which supports WiFi 6GHz with both WiFi 6e and 7 protocols. After spending a little time to set it up, I was excited to finally embrace the next-gen WiFi on my 1 VI.
Unfortunately however, my phone wasn't able to pick up the 6GHz-only SSID; although I could use the MLO one (2.4/5/6GHz 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax/be), it just stayed on 5GHz with WiFi 6.
Upon further investigation, I suspect that WiFi 6e and 7 are disabled in Australia as AU is missing from the lists in /oem/etc/customization/config.prop:
ro.vendor.sony.wlan.6e_cc_list=HK,JP,AT,BE,BG,HR,CY,CZ,DK,EE,FI,FR,DE,GR,HU,IE,IT,LV,LI,LT,LU,MT,NL,NO,PL,PT,RO,SK,SI,ES,SE,GB,CH,IS,MY,TH,TW,SG,MO
ro.vendor.sony.wlan.11be_cc_list=HK,JP,AT,BE,BG,HR,CY,CZ,DK,EE,FI,FR,DE,GR,HU,IE,IT,LV,LI,LT,LU,MT,NL,NO,PL,PT,RO,SK,SI,ES,SE,GB,CH,IS,TH,TW,SG,US,MO
According to Wikipedia, Australia allows the same channels as those in UK, and New Zealand allows the same ones as those in Japan. Since both UK and Japan are in the lists already, I hope it's not too much trouble to add AU and NZ too. Could the Xperia developers kindly consider? Thank you!
