Xperia 1 - Android system uses 110 % battery

Hello,

My Xperia 1 battery  decreases very quickly, too quickly...

The processus in question seems to be "android system" for which battery consumption reaches now...119 % whereas screen is only 27 % and chrome 3 %.

Does anyone has the same problem ?

I have recently installed the August update. Before this, I did not notice this kind of problem.

Another question : android system manages a lot of different process. How is it possible to identify which process may be the cause of this high consumption ? Even the développer mode does not provide this information

Many thanks

Bye

Many thanks for your help.

I had already read this article. It's about Google play and not system'android unfortunately.

On my device, Google plays is about 1 % battery usage.

If you have another suggestion, I would read it carefully 😃

Hi all,

It seems ok now but I'm note sure. Here is what I did:

- Restart phone but I already did it before without any noticeable change

- Delete cache from " Services google play" as explained in the article mentioned by Kenway

- Stop the " creator mode" and let the system decide when it has to be activated

It is ok now, even if the battery should last longer...

Thanks

JDX

After several hours playing with the phone, nothing, finally, has changed. "Android system" reaches now 20% and is increasing.

Screen is only 2% and chrome is 1% after one hour surfing...

Can anybody help me ?

Go  into settings, and stop google play services if it's running, then delete the cache and data from it.

The link above to the article, click it, and click the beta Play services link in it, or download the latest beta from the link in the article, so you should be running v 19.x.xx.

There is a bug in the latest normal versions that cause this issue. (just as there is a bug in the latest Google Photos), but the betas are unaffected.

I was going from 100% charge the other day to 72% in less than an hour or so, not doing anything, and android system was up to around 100%+.

Failing that, reboot and run in safe mode, to see if Play services has an the grip on an app or two.

What apps or services do you have running just now.

With this bug, things like the Ambient Display(double tap to wake) and the instant camera(where it comes on if held still for 2 seconds), and the smart display(where the clock comes on if the phone is moved(can't remember its name) can cause this issue, as the phone never really sleeps, so system services won't either.

But it's got nothing to do with Creator mode..I leave that on all the time.

Hello

Thanks a lot for your recommendation and experience sharing.

I have followed everything you have listed except the Google service update. I have canceled the last update and now my "Google Play Services" is in 16.0.91 version. As I wasn't sure to download the right .apk, I have prefered going back to the past. I'll wait the (after) next version of Google services before updating mine.

Thanks a lot again, now it seems ok but I need to use the phone a little before confirmarion. Screen is currently 10 %, WiFi 3 %, system android 3% and chrome 2 %
