Hello all,
I am a new owner of the Xperia 1 II and I have to say for the first 5-6 days of using it that I am super excited. (previous device, XZ1)
Nevertheless, because this phone is not cheap and I expect it to be flawless, I found a weird sound when gently tapping the back of the phone, at the bottom, just around the Xperia sign.
It sounds like something is creaking (I don't know if I am using the right word), like some parts are not glued properly and it doesn't feel solid like when I'm tapping in the middle or at the top part of the phone.
Has anyone Xperianced something similar with this device?
Should I contact support for replacement since I have the phone for less than a week? I won't accept to send to service, open it, check it, close and get it back fixed or not...
Any advice/comments would be very useful,
Thanks in advance,
Nikos
Hello there,
So to end any debate in this being a defect or not, you can head down to the store where you bought it and check if the other devices make the same sound, and head there with the receipt in hand already, so you could guarantee your right to return within the first lawful 14 days. Best of subtle luck.
Hello CosmicTomato,
I totally agree, that's what I'm planning to do.
I just wanted to check first if anyone from here experiences the same.
Cheers...
Oh no worries, haven't we all had our fair share of products complications, anytime bruh. xD
So I guess in this whole Sony community there is no one else active with the same device to verify this?
I can agree with @CosmicTomato in this, the best option is to refer to the store to check if this happens with other devices or not, and to check the replacement option as well.
I did that yesterday.
The representative and his colleague agreed that something sounded weird in there, but it's not "visible" and he can't replace it immediately. We checked the phone which was for demonstration and also did that weird sound, but a little bit less.
After some negotiations, for sending the phone to the service department bla bla bla, waste of time/money, this is the best sony phone so far, we finally agreed for a replacement. The guy acted like I was stealing him and that he was doing me a favor, so far away from the customer experience someone would expect.
After that, we opened the new phone and still made that weird noise when tapping the lower back.
Anyway, I don't think it's a coincidence to experience this in 3 devices. It might be the vibration feature or something else but still, this doesn't make it feel a quality device at that price, representing the flagship of the company.
Nevertheless, this doesn't affect the functionality, you can't hear or feel that noise in every day use and the phone works perfectly as it should, but personally I believe that I "deserve" in a way to be punctilious and have high expectations after spending so much money on the Xperia 1 ii.
That's my story. I would really like to hear the experience of other owners on this matter.

So?? Is there any other user of Xperia 1 ii to test this and share his/her experience??
