Just this morning I did a new update for my Sony Xperia 1 iii, but soon after the home screen keeps stopping/flashing, and unable to use the phone at all. Will there be a repair update soon, as I used companion, but that did nothing at all to the phone.

Hi, same problem here - did software update today and Xperia Home app stuck in constant loop meaning phone practically unusable. Thankfully found this thread before I did a factory reset/repair , managed to launch Google Play by tapping the app very quickly, downloaded Microsoft Launcher and can confirm this is working and at least makes my phone usable again now!
Pretty terrible of Sony to allow this update when it literally makes it unusable!
Thanks again to the person who suggested to use Microsoft Launcher !
Same issue here with the latest update. This is crazy!
I have Google assistant so asked it to download Microsoft Launcher from Google Play. Assistant came in handy for once.
Reluctantly using Microsoft Launcher which works for now. Thanks!
It worth noting I have the Xperia 5 iii with this same issue
Another 5 iii user with the same issue ... 😞
Phone not even 2 weeks old & I had just got it set up the way that I wanted ... 😩
Luckily I already had MS Launcher on the phone although I am not a fan but at least it works!
This is what I got back from Sony Support & fair enough, clearing the storage & cache for Xperia Home seems to have worked albeit you shouldn't really have to do this on an official release on a new phone ...
Thank you for contacting Sony support.

I had the same problem Saturday after the android 12 update, after 2 factory resets and a repair with pc companion the clear user data option in Xperia home app was a last resort .But now works fantastic and battery usage has been fantastic !
Hi all,
It's worth to mention that clearing cache and data and force stop for Xperia home app worked with a lot of people, you may try that if you don't like Microsoft launcher and waiting for the update that will solve that mess. 🙂
