Xperia 1 Phone calls problems after Android 11

I have to restart my Xperia 1 phone every time when want to make a phone call. When someone calling me I nothing happens on my phone. After restarting it is fine for some time.

It started after upgrading to Android 11.

Anyone noticed that problem?

Which update, 55.2.A.2.66 or the prior 55.2.A.2.630

If you're still on 55.2.A.2.630 then just wait a little for the next update.

Steps to take

- how is it in safe mode?

- if same situation in safe mode then backup and do a software repair with Xperia Companion.

Thanks for the reply. The situation is still the same after both updates.

Safe mode is fine but it doesn't tell too much as it is working fine after normal restarting. Unfortunately just for about an hour.
I followed your instructions and spent lovely couple of hours to do software repair and restoration of application settings. I was happy when I finished all the process and it was fine. Unfortunately for one hour only and the problem came back.

I don't exactly understand.

You say it's OK in safe mode?

Or even then after one hour problems occur.

In general:

In safe mode only the preinstalled apps are activated.

So this is like a clean install.

There are apps that jeopardize your system for instance by not handling memory allocation in a proper way.

The moment you do a software repair and reinstall all previously installed apps you're re-introducing trouble.

Stay mainstream & install just the most needed apps.

It keeps your device lean and speedy.

Ok. Understand.

Unfortunately still the same.

Just to be sure I've done another factory reset and restore from Google cloud.

Problem come back even in safe mode.

I always minimise number of applications to keep the system as clean as possible.

What I should do now?

I was really enjoying my Xperia for photography, navigation, banking, social media, video, sports, music. That's  the point for spending not small amount of money for pocket size computer. I really need it sorted.

Thanks for all help.

What if you do another Xperia Companion software repair, battery >80%

Then don't restore anything and test.

Then add a few apps and test.

And so on.

Before doing so, try another SIM from someone else.

Remove SD card if present.

unfortunately something want wrong on repairing process and now I can see: Your device is corrupt... Can't boot... and switching off itself. So I lost my smartphone for some time.

Looks like I have to book warranty repair 😞

First things first.

- switch off and charge your phone

- keep it switched off

- open Xperia Companion and choose software repair

- On the next page tick 'device is not recognised or is a smart watch'

- follow the instructions

Good luck with the software repair.

Thanks for your help.

I couldn't wait any more and I had sent the phone for warranty repair.

I had another repeating issue with fingerprint sensor.

Hopefully both will be sorted out.

I will follow your instructions about installation minimum applications without using backup just when I receive the device.

I've got my phone back.

Still the same issue.

I've done another software repair and haven't even login into my Google account. It happens even on clear system.

I've swapped SIM card with O2 one and works fine. My 3 network card works fine in another phone.

What is the next step? Thanks
