Hi forum. I have an Xperia 1 with a USB problem. I use it in two vehicles for android auto and I use it on my computer for charging and transferring data. The problem I am having which started about 5 months after having the phone is any connection with data (android auto, for example) only works with the cable oriented in a single direction. The cables are all usb A to C, which includes a cable Sony themselves sent me.
The phone went off for repair and was sent back a week later with "no fault found" and a new cable. Sent back again, the phone took 4 weeks to come back to me from Indiana with a new motherboard.
At least the phone worked! For about 9 days. Now it has the same problem.
I'm starting to think this is a design flaw with the phone. Or a new motherboard does not mean a new USB port and the port has a physical problem.
Has anyone ever seen a problem like this before? At this point I am not inclined to send the phone back for repair again. I am, however, inclined to never purchase another Sony phone again because their support is sub-par. i asked them repeatedly over the 5+ weeks I went without my phone for a new phone, but they did not seem willing to do that.
Thanks.
I'm really sorry about your experience, I've been in the same position; it was frustrating having to explain everything all over again every time they sent me to a different department, I was lucky enough to get it replaced, that was years ago, back to your issue, just to clarify everything, you are only experience this issue with cars or with your computers too?
