Hi there, have been using my Xperia 5 with no problems until now, I just checked on Google Photos (which I didn't even know was turned on as I use the internal Album app and Flickr), only to find for the last 2 months my phone has been uploading all my photos etc to Google photos. Sync was turned off.
So I go into Google photos on my phone, and delete them all, checked on a desktop and they had all gone from the webpage on my computer too, great, I thought.
So I go to settings and disable the Google photos app. Then go back to my Album on my phone, only to find that all my photos had been deleted from there too.
I tried taking a picture but nothing was stored in the album. Turned GP back on and Album started saving photos again.
Why has Sony suddenly auto-affiliated the native Album app with GP? I don't want anything to do with GP and already have an auto-saving photo app on my phone (Flickr.)
As it happens, I only lost a few days photos, but it's not the point.
What's the point in "Album" if you can't use it without GP?
Made sure the Sync was definitely off this time and it doesn't seem to be uploading them from GP but they are still in the Google Photo app - even though I don't want them there.
Any advice appreciated!
Many thanks

Update - just found out it has deleted the one and only final movie project I made in Cinema Pro on New Years Day of my kids too... Eh? So you delete stuff off of GP and it clears your Cinema Pro projects aswell? Great!
