I have just bought a NEX-5N despite wanting it with the 55-210mm kit, which is out of stock everywhere, as is the lens on its own. Is there any estimate of when these might start appearing in the UK again, and what are the alternatives?
thx
Hello Zorbadog1 - welcome to the Sony Forums
One option may be to try and order the lens from the USA, perhaps via the Sony Store. Whilst I cannot guarantee the information available relating to stock availability across the atlantic, the site for this lens states that there is availability, bearing in mind that the USA date format reverses the date and month compared to what we are used to i.e. it states that this lens could ship on 5th December:
Thanks,
Simon

I don't believe it is a case of supply problems, just high demand - it is just a case of constantly checking stock. I noticed that WEX (Warehouse Express) had them in stock again a week or so after their first batch sold out, but this second batch had sold out within a day - just keep checking around and you'll get one eventually!
The only alternative is the NEX 18-200mm, but not only is it a lot more expensive, if you already have the 18-55 it makes sense to wait until you can get the 55-210.
