Can I use an aps-c lens on a full frame camera (a mount)

Hi folks

My trusty a55 has reached the end of its useful life and I’m going to upgrade to a new camera but I have a perfect 70-300 SSM zoom lens that I don’t want to replace (at vast expense). I’m considering the a77ii but would a newer full frame alpha model be a better bet? What I can’t find a straight answer on is whether that lens would be compatible with the full frame format? Any help and advice therefore would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Steve

The "limit" between A77II and SAL70300:

well, I'd say that you'll be better off with the A77M2 than with a full frame camera in this case. For a full frame camera you'd certainly need a full frame lens. Here are two links to YouTube. Those videos hopefully will clarify things.
