Cashback scam

In July I decided to take the plunge and swap systems from Canon to Sony. I'd decided that if I was doing it I'd go native glass too so I ended up buying close to £10,000 worth of Sony equipment. I got two A7IIIs from retailers advertising the cash back offer and also the 55mm Zeiss which had the cashback offer.

I submitted the claims as the 30 days are up and it was initially approved. Then Sony emailed me saying you can only claim cashback on one A7III not two. Fair enough i guess, bit of a shame but if that's the rules then so be it. Except now they're saying I cant claim anything and have been refused completely!

Here's their email:

"Thank you for participating in  cashback campaign.

We can confirm that we have received the documents you have sent, however, after validation we have noticed that this is the third claim to submit and the second time for the same model and as per the terms and conditions of the campaign a maximum of 3 claims is allowed per customer (1 claim per product).

Based on this information your participation is unfortunately no longer valid."

I can't believe how appalling this is, after investing so much into their brand. All I've done was have the cheek to buy two of their cameras.

Does anyone know how I can speak to someone about this?

Hi Dru.Dodd,

Welcome to the community.

Sounds really frustrating. I'll see if I can find out what you can do about it, but in the meantime, another community member may be able to help.

Thanks,

Pascale

Hi Dru.Dodd,

I've gone through the terms and conditions of the offer. One part says that you can only submit one claim per product. I think that's why only one of the claims you've submitted for the A7M3s will be accepted.

Cheers,
