Feature requests, wishes for photographers, 3d-scan, animators (stop motion), live composite.

Sony Sould create square image sensor (1:1 aspect ratio) for photographers who want to crop and rotate their images afterwards to 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 4:3 or 3:2, 2:3 aspect ratio etc. in post process.

This would be also great way to add easy user experience to smartphones, no need to rotate your phone to get horizontal / vertical image, just take a photo with 1:1 square sensor and use crop if there is need for different aspect ration for vertical algiment or horizontal algiment, all this in post - this could be easy and fast way with smartphones, no need to turn your camera vertical or horizontal, just take a photo and crop it.

for video production this would be great way post process video, stablize and crop and animate crop (make it look like camera pan/tilt/rotation animation)

-some post process / compositing features directly in Camera body software would be great addition: stop motion features (onion-skinning feature, image sequence files for animation clips, play controls with loop and pin-pong feature), photostacking: exposure, noise reduction, object remove, focus (focus stacking like macro photography with depth map generation).  (like Olympus' live composite mode/feature, and helicon focus software which can generate depth map from focus stacing)

-Bracketing could be more advanced: focus bracketing, zoom bracketing, (there is already hdr-shooting and exposure bracketing).

-Depth sensor to produce depth map data, this coud be great advance for Photogrammetry. If Camera would have photogrammetry software it could make live 3d-scanning, maybe with wifi connection it could use cloud based computing for bigger data sets.  Depth sensor could also make possible to focus photo in post process.

-Global shutter.
