I recently replaced my A mount 70 - 400 lens (used with an La-ea3 adapter) with the FE 100 -400. With the former I could use the manual focus ring even when using Continual Auto Focus. This could be useful for focussing roughly on the right branch when photographing small birds before using auto focus. With the FE 100 - 400 the lens's focus ring is inoperative in auto focus mode. I know there is DMF but it seems odd that something that used to be useful no longer works. Could this be introduced in a firmware upgrade?
