Memory Card for A3000

I have purchased an SDHC 1 memory card (8GB) for my new camera.
When installing the card, display says "reinsert MC". Card might need formatting, but I cant access this feature. What am I doing wrong ?

It should take a SDHC Card OK.  What make of card are you using?

I presume it is inserted correctly?

Have you got an old SD card to try to check the slot is working OK?

I am using an 8GB SDHC 1 card, called Sandisc

I am having the same problem with aSanDisk card/the same model! Did you find one that works yet? I need to order a new one...
