New Sony E 18-135mm and NEX-6 camera?

Hello,

Does anyone know if the new Sony E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 APS-C zoom lens to be released on the 19th February 2018 will be suitable for my rather dated Sony NEX-6 camera? Will I need a firmware update?

Hello,

I received the following reply from Sony re. my enquiry if the new 18-135mm zoom would be suitable for my NEX-6.  A firmware update is available for the A6300 and A6500 cameras.  I am doubtful that an update will be made available for the NEX-6, which is disappointing as I definitely would have bought the new lens.
