SAL14TC jammed on lens

Hi

I hope somebody here can help, as Sony customer support hasn't! I sent my SAL14TC in for repair as it had jammed onto my 2.8/70-200 G SSM II lens. It was returned today with the report that no fault was found. I (foolishly) put it onto the lens to check. It released 1st time, but jammed on the 2nd and now won't release. To clarify - it is not jammed onto the camera body, just to the lens. The lens has not shown any sign of sticking/jamming onto the camera body. The SAL14TC will not retract the locking pins. Phoned the repair centre immediately - no help and no engineers available as they finish at 12 on a Friday! I'm stuck. Cross. Frustrated. Any ideas ?

Thanks

Hi @michaelsunny and welcome to the Community

Have you contacted Sony Support again about this?

(I wasn't clear which repair centre you contacted today)

As the problem sounds mechanical, I don't think there is a quick, easy fix for you.

Do you have a case number from Support that I can use to escalate this for you further?

I have spoken to the repair centre in Pencoed as well as Customer Support today - neither of which could offer a solution.

The case number is 16258478 and the repair job ref is 647505.

I know that it is a mechanical issue - that's why it was sent for repair originally.

Any help would be gratefully recieved as I am losing the will with Sony.

Thanks

I've been contacted by Customer support as well as Repair centre and received conflicting emails. I will have to send the converter back again, after managing to free it from the lens. Not happy.
