BBC Red Button text service KD-50X85K

As a deaf person I found the text service very valuable and was one of many who commented when they threatened to withdraw it a few years ago. On purchasing my new Sony Bravia TV I was amazed to find that, despite my paying for a TV Licence, the text button on the remote does nothing. My software and filmware are up-to-date but I understand that my TV does not support the service. Is there anything I can do to get back this valuable and vital service for which I am paying on my smart TV? Thank you.Michael

Hi @Mickchit

The Text Service button is there because the same remote is used in other countries that do still have a general text service. Unfortunately your TV in the UK no longer supports the old Text Services. As far as I know, you need a TV that does not connect to the internet to view the BBC Text Services. Most "smart" TVs no longer support the service including your TV.

Hey @Mickchit, it offers a new feature that requires the TV to be connected to the internet as explained here
