Bravia AF9 Optical Output still sends signal in standby

My Bravia AF9 stl sends signal on its optical output when it's in standby mode repeatedly for some seconds. This also wakes up my DAC (Digital/Analog converter) repeatedly, producing loud hissing sounds from my active speakers. Why does the TV sends out optical signal when it's in standby mode? It is very frustrating.

It should be addressed in a future firmware.

Hi there,

Have you tried a factory reset?

Best wishes,

M

Hello Michael,

Yes, I already tried a factory reset - still the same.

My XF87 has the same problem - I was told that a lot of modern TVs do this and to simply accept it

What I did manage to do is stop my soundbar from repeatedly waking up on detecting light/data from the optical cable. I have a Samsung sound system and a hidden command turns the auto-wakeup feature off.

If this is an option for you, try the manual/website of your sound system.
