Hello
updated my BRAVIA KD-49XH9505BU to the latest FW, now everyday when I switch the TV on via the remote, which is linked to a sky + box through my AV system using earc on hdmi3, I get a blue screen saying input doesn’t support HDCP. If I then turn everything off/ on at the socket everything works perfectly. It seems like a handshake issue, but very frustrating and shouldn’t be happening. Any solutions?
thanks
Is the AVR made by Sony?? Does the issue happen if you connect to the TV directly bypassing it?
No the AVR is made by Yamaha, my 4K Blu-ray by Panasonic, Sky box by god knows who 😂and Blu-ray by Cambridge, the manufacturer shouldn’t make any difference as long as they meet the latest standards which they do and as I’ve said previously it connects perfectly following a power cycle, and everything works in 4K with full AV sound. All my AV kit is fully compliant to latest standards regarding HDMI 2:2 and HDMI 2:0. I just don’t understand why following, going into standby for a period of time the blue screen error message saying
“Screen does not support HDCP please try another HDMI input” it doesn’t go away even if I try all 4 HDMI inputs, but as soon as I power cycle it completes the digital handshake perfectly. What’s more infuriating is that this didn’t happen prior to the recent FW update, as I stated in my first post. Sorry if this sounds impatient but I don’t expect these things to happen to a brand new piece of kit and following a FW update with no explanation or guidance from Sony on a Sony forum..
I cannot connect my system any other way everything goes through the AV system then to the TV, I don’t have any Ariel connections, directly to the TV, my Sky box is connected directly to AV reciever
Hi @Mortie31
I'm only asking so I could dig into the manual or check if Sony published anything about such issues. On the other hand, simplifying the connection by connecting your Sky box or BD player directly to the HDMI ports on the TV will effectively tell us more about the issue. like whether the handshake issue happens with the AVR specifically or with any HDMI device.
It's good to narrow down the number of factors.

Thankyou, sorry I was abit frustrated with it yesterday and was snappy. I did try it and it happens even if I plug in directly not going through the AV receiver. This same system has worked flawlessly for years with my old Panasonic 4K tv, I’m really regretting changing it now. Here’s a pic of the error message. For whatever reason the TV screen doesn’t want to handshake from a long standby. Even more strangely if I put the system into standby for few minutes then come out of standby it works fine. It only affects over longer periods...
Still got this problem, does anyone from Sony customer service monitor this site? Or do I need to contact them separately?
Hi, do you have the same model? What's the software version you have?
Hi Hannah, same model as which? I don’t know where to see the FW version but I have checked and it says it’s the latest and this issue only started when I updated the FW! Where can I find the FW version? I can see security patch, kernel version and build version

The thread is about a BRAVIA KD-49XH9505 , if you have it press the Help button on the remote control the software version will be on the top right-hand side of the screen. That works with any Android TV anyway.
I’ve checked the FW version now and it says it’s the latest.. I’m stuck as to where to go now, searched the helptopics and no where has an answer. Might just cut my losses and try to return it as faulty as it’s less than 2 months old
