BRAVIA TV Volume Jumps 2 steps when SoundBar is connected

I have recently connected a HT-SF150 soundbar to my KD43XH8066 TV using the ARC HDMI method. No problems connecting, however I notice that when I change the volume using the remote control, the TV now jumps two steps - skipping every odd numer (for example: from 12 to 14, skipping 13).

Is this a bug or a feature?

Thank you in advance.

It is the normal behaviour. Your TV has a range of 1 to 100 for the volume while the soundbar 1-50 so the tv is adapting to the soundbar when connected while remaining in its range

Which remote, TV or soundbar? Which volume jumps, TV or soundbar?

The volume number on my Yamaha soundbar registers about double what the TV shows; but without objective SPLs this is as meaningless as Nigel Tufnell’s ‘This goes up to eleven’.

Which your devices now, alas, just skip right over 😛
