Can't connect to Soundbox

Hi,

 

I have a new Sky Soundbox and it works great through the direct connection with the Sky Q Box.

 

The issue is that I can't seem to get any sound through Optical. When I switch the Soundbox to Optical there is a message that the TV has switched to output to the Audio System, then it says there is an "audio system communication failure" and it switches back to the TV Speakers. I have tried disabling Bravia Sync and now it doesn't give the error when manually switching but there is no sound output.

 

Has anyone else had the same issue?

Can you let me know which TV model you are using?  It might be also worth getting in touch with Sky who may be able to offer some help.

Hi Sean,

 

The TV is a 55 inch X850C. 

 

I am going to try calling Sky tomorrow, hopefully they will be able to help.

Ok, I think it could be because the Optical cable broke when switching the soundbar.

 

I'm going to try and get a new cable and see if that works.
