Connect PS3 controller to android TV

I am trying to connect a PS3 controller to my android tv model 55w809c so I can have a go with the PS Now app. The manual said you needed a PS3 or PS4 dual shock pad to connect but I only seem to have the option to connect a PS4 controller.

I connected the PS3 controller via USB and a message popped up saying 'Dual shock 3 not compatible with Playstation Now'. Am I unable to use this or am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi there

Unfortunately only PS4 controllers can connect to an Android TV.

Yeah looks like your right. I was sure I read somewhere that it was DS3 or DS4 but looks like I was wrong. Sorry about that.

How about on an android phone? I read somewhere in a blog that it works. How true is it?

It works if it's wired.
