I'm having a real problem with my TV during dark scenes/night scenes etc.
Really bad halo/ring pixelation is showing and the picture looks really noisy.
I'll include photos from a recent blu-ray watch but it basically happens during every dark scene and for a 4k/HDR upscaling TV I expect better for BluRay and HD pictures.
One old post I came across suggested it could be a faulty panel?
Please help as this is driving me nuts!
Hi there,
In the advanced picture settings, can you try enabling "Random Noise Reduction" and "Digital Noise Reduction"
Can you let me know if this helps the issue?
Best wishes,
Sean Mc
Hi Cragworth,
Welcome to our community!
I'm curious to know if this issue happens on all content from all the different sources or not. For example, if you tried to play a 4K HDR video from YouTube or any other app, does the same issue happen?

This is from a 4k stream on the YouTube app on the TV. Still pixelation?
Here is a 4k YouTube stream with all settings on high.
No difference still a horrible picture...
Hi Cragworth,
I can see the image is much better when streaming from YouTube.
can you make sure the TV is running on the latest firmware using this link: https://bit.ly/2JGpDEO?
Also, you can try to reset the TV to factory settings and check if this may help with the picture.

Hi I am having the same issue. Had a resolution been found?
I’m also having this issue on a KD-55AF8
is there any answers SONY?
Was there any fix for this issue.
Most of the time the dark scenes become unwatchable.
Really bad blocky blacks on AF8 65 when watching dark scenes, such as GOT and Luther. Any updates on this? Thought I read somewhere an update is expected to fix this, but it may not be until the autumn. Any help most appreciated because it’s getting rather annoying.
