Disillusioned with Sony KDL55-W805C/B&O - noise problem

Hi Folks, I'm looking for any advice on how to sort out some noise issues I'm having with a pair of Bang and Olufsen 6000's - I absolutely adore these speakers, and currently have them running from the 3.5mm out-Line on a Sony Bravia KDL55-W805c, however am getting a high pitched whine when connected, that isn't present from any other source. This was sold to me as a "premium" TV, so even though it's running active speakers, this level of noise is honestly not at all what I'd expect. 

Testing so far has included the below:

TV Audio out -> 3.5mm-RCA -> Beolab 6000 = High frequency whine

Nexus 6P / iPad -> 3.5mm-RCA -> Beolab 6000 = near silent with no high pitched tone and a small amount of speaker noise only audible within a foot or so (which I believe you'll get on any system?) This has been tried with both devices plugged into the mains charging, and standalone.

TV Audio out -> Pair of Sennheiser PC360's = the sound is clear - however it switches from Audio out (Variable) to Headphone mode. I've tried making this change with the speakers but the noise persists. (Interestingly the volume range in Audio out (variable) is also much more sensitive, with comfortable listening being at between 8-10% whilst on the headphones it's between 50-60%)

Any suggestions/pointers in the right direction greatly appreciated -

I have had a bit of a look at your problem, a couple of quick suggestions.

• Can you ensure the switch on the speakers is set to 'line'
• Can you try separating the power cables away as far as possible from the audio cable connected to the tv? Incase of electrical interferrence

What i think you maybe getting is a ground loop hum, have a read of this and search Google too.

My initial thoughts were a grounding issue and I actually found a thread where someone is having the same issue with B & O Speakers. Also one software thing you can change, disable Clear Audio in settings. Let us know how you get along!

ViewerListener SAYS - Problem solved!

I took the tv and Bose speaker along to Perth Car Radio Services (where they fix car radios). Fortunately my setup buzzed when the guy set it up. He tried a new lead from his own stock (3.5mm jacks each end) between tv and Bose - that one buzzed, too, and he pronounced the headphone socket to be "dirty". He suggested that instead of taking the audio from the headphone socket I could try taking it from the scart socket on the tv by fitting an adapter: Scart to RCA (it has a switch which allows the scart to either input or output the signal) and feed that output signal to the Bose with an RCA -> 3.5mm cable. Got an adapter at the local Asda (= Walmart) for GBP 6 (about USD 10). And it works perfectly.
