Faulty system

I bought this Tv last year March 2018 and from the time we had this system we’ve had nothing

but problems for the first 3 months we had wi-fi problems my providers BT they have been

Very good I contacted Sony numerous times and the retailers Richersounds who we bought the Tv from. How many times do you unplugg a Tv and switch it back on or how many times do

you reboot the damn thing?

This Tv has been taken back to the work shop 3 times and its still in the work shop 1st a wi-fi

part was replaced then the 2nd time it went back again because all of a sudden the screen would go blank and lines going across the screen with a loud distorted sound and now it’s

gone again for the 3rd time.

We have had this Tv for a year and we have not enjoyed this system at all it has been so frustrating we spent just under £1000 on a tv which has been the worst buy ever.

We have been very disappointed and patient but now we have just about had enough.

The retailers Richersounds they are no help at all as far as they are concerned you bought it

and if anything goes wrong with it contact Sony.

I have spoken to Sony today and I have asked for new Tv they said they will get back to me in

24 hours. This system has been opened up twice parts have been replaced and its never going to be the same.

I’m a Panasonic person all my life I did buy a Sony dvd and a very expensive one 10 years ago

the laser on the dvd went after a year and since then I haven’t looked at Sony but then you

think surely they have improved? No I don’t think so.

I  regret ever buying a Sony. Will Sony ofer me a new Tv.????

Hi @Buddy8563  and welcome to the Community

Have Sony contacted you yet?

That doesn’t sound like the Richer Sounds that I know, and nor does it sound like a retailer who knows that it is their responsibility to warranty the product for a minimum of 12 months.

It might however be a Richer Sounds who have determined that the most effective repair would be one made by Sony, rather than one in their own workshops, which is not quite the same thing.

But you should know that you are well within your rights to refuse further repair attempts after the first repair attempt, and receive either a refund or a replacement, which would come from Richer Sounds, who would then be credited for the set according to whatever arrangement they have with Sony.

While these Sony Android sets certainly have their issues, it does sound very much like you got a Friday afternoon one.

My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…
