Firmware update from 6.0384 to 6.0414 did not fully solve the sound drop out problems

I reported about the random sound muting/drop out problem after installing 6.0384 in https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/new-v6-0384-firmware-update-mutes-randomly-sound-to-sound...

After installing the latest firmware 6.014 yesterday, I still have had some random drop outs while watching traditional TV programs. However, their amount is less than before and in addition Netflix seems work now without any sound problems.

I also have sound drop out issues (on a KD55xh9296) and I also updated to 6.0414 from the dodgy 6.0384. I've not fully tested it yet but it seems initially like you experienced, the sound drop outs are still there but don't happen so often.

Have you tried clearing the cached data (Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data)? Also does this happen with the built-in speakers or a connected audio system?

It happens only with connected audio (in my case Samsung Q90R soundbar). Cache cleared many times.

I have cleared the cache. Its only a problem when playing through my AV receiver. TV speakers are fine. After reading something elsewhere, I disabled DD+ and run standard DD and the issue has gone. The AV receiver is fine with DD+ from my Blu ray player.  Obviously I would prefer to be able to run DD+ and maybe it will be sorted in future firmware. I like the TV but I have had to disable several features to get things to run decently i.e. DD+ and Motionflow.

This may be elementary, but do you have Enhanced format enabled (under Settings - Watching TV - External Inputs - HDMI Signal Format)?

Yes, I have. I have also tested the other options from there without any difference.

Have you tried factory resetting the TV before or after the latest update?

Well, only after. Also updated the Samsung Q90R soundbar with the brand new firmware release 1012.6.

But no positive effect.

I wonder if you've been in touch with Sony about this (before or after the update)? If so, make sure to report the issue remains after the update was installed and let us know if they suggest anything else.
