Infuriating power consumption warning with every setting

Dear Sony,

I just bought the KE-55A8 tv which is about 1500 euros and it is treating me like a little child with this popup about power consumption. I have to adjust during the day for sensitive eyes. Now EVERTIME in EVERY menu option the power consumption message pops up!!

Seriously,  can you please FIX THIS? Just put an acknowledgement box in there and then leave it.

I actually bought this one because of quick settings instead of the LG counterpart........ so what do i do?

This really isn't funny anymore

Hi nlmike, as I said in the previous post, this model has the EU regulations pre-installed. It's not a fault and Sony is not going to fix it, they say it's also applies by the UK law.

So that means basically every single time we want to adjust something we get a popup we have to click it away, see if the setting works, and adjust it by clicking away the same popup, every single time......

Sorry but this is just rediculous.

What specific law states this? I am curious how it is worded and who thought up this "brilliant" plan.

I know it's not your fault, but this is very disappointing.

To be exact, this is Sony’s interpretation of how they meet the requirements of this EU law.

That all other TV manufacturers have met these requirements with something that is only minimally intrusive is something that Sony need to take on board before they start haemorrhaging sales, and perhaps even existing customers.

Ye it is just bizar. And now i get reminders to tag a response as a 'solution'. Well no, it is NOT solved. Typical there is no button for that.

Again last night, had to adjust for my eyes. Its just nonstop the same popup....

So why don't LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung etc etc all hammer us with these eco warnings at every click off the picture menu in the EU or UK?

Sony should have it as a one time warning that you click to agree to like any and every other manufacturer does.

I have the exact same problems, and hundreds of other people as well! I agree, we need to have an option to hide this, it has to be less intrusive, it can come once, but not everytime. That is a really bad solution. I bought the sony a8 for the nice and fast menus and with an oled tv we go to the menu a lot to change settings. It's exactly the opposite right now, slowing us down on everything. Please Sony change this as soon as possible with an update! Thank you

Hi royabrown2, IDK how other manufacturers implemented the recent EU regulations TBH. jmac80, I do encourage everyone to make sure to deliver their feedback to Sony as I do know that they take it into consideration and they do act upon it.

I agree, I have the XH92 and would prefer to switch off the power consumption nag screen!

It would be OK if it said it once but not everytime you change between standard, cinema and game picture settings.

Let's hope Sony listens to their customers and issue an update for this!

It can't be law if other manufacturers dont enforce it.

As far as info available about this (on the forums), it IS law, but the implementation is way too "in your face" than it should be from a UX point of view.

Though, in their defense, they have replied on here taking our feedback, so here's to hoping this feedback is implemented sooner than later.
