My TV is model KD-49XD8305, can anyone tell me if it’s HLG compatible as I’m told that is how sky broadcast their HDR offering. On the Sony site it says that my tv is compatible but I don’t know if I currently get it or if I don’t, how to update my tv to be able to receive it. Hope this makes some sense.
Hi @Johnny96
Your TV is definitely compatible with Sky Q HLG HDR with the latest software. Instructions below:
To confirm that it is receiving and displaying a HDR signal press ACTION on your remote and select picture. You should see HDR displayed top right. However if the ACTION menu is bright white you know it is before you look.
Note make sure your Sky Q box is set to 2160 10 bit. 8 bit is ordinary SDR.
Hi SonyUser30Yrs
I do have the latest software update and my sky box is set to 2016 10 bit. When I go to action menu and press picture, up in the right hand corner it just says Picture HDMI 2 which is the port that the sky box is plugged into. Is there something else that I’m missing? When I watch the football on sky in UHD there is quite a big difference in picture quality. My sky box hardware version is 32B212 which I’m led to believe is HDR compatible. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
