KD-65AF9 Digital Tuning Region issue

Hi, I've had this beast for a few weeks now and am really happy with it. However, all of a sudden when I first switch on I get under the "Digital Auto Tuning" banner I'm given 3 options to select a region. I'#d be happy to select one of the 3 option but for the lifer of me I can't see how. The up and down arrows don't work and neither does the select button. I've tried a few other buttons and even re-tuned the TV but I'm still getting the message. It goes off after a minute or so but it's getting annoying. Am I missing something really simple here folks ?

The problem was posted here before and the temporary solution is to turn the auto retune off:

 

HOME, SETTINGS, CHANNEL SETUP, DIGITAL SETUP, TECHNICAL SET UP, AUTO SERVICE  UPDATE, UPDATE ON/OFF TO OFF.

Thanks for the advice. It looks like it's fixed the problem but you shouldn't have to disable the auto updates to not select a region for digial tuning. I still don't know why you just can't simply select a region from the 3 choices it gives you ! Bizarre

Thanks for this. I also have a KD-65AF9 and have the same issue. This is obviously a bug and surely Sony should supply a proper fix for it, not a temporary solution by turning off auto update which is (presumably) a wothwhile feature otherwise it wouldn't be there. I will try this temporary fix, and hope it works, but in the meantime, come on Sony provide a proper solution to a problem with your expensive flagship TVs!

 

Not a good advert for Sony....
