I get my television channels from the Heathfield Transmitter but just lately when I try to tune into certain programs I get a message saying no event information and on checking I see it is using channel 29 which is the Midhurst transmitter and I should be getting channel 40.I have done a Digital Manual Retune and selected channel 40 but when I go to watch the TV it has gone back to channel 29 how do I get it to stay on channel 40.I did did think of doing a factory reset/retune but cannot see how that is done. The TV is a Sony KDL-42W653A.Any help appreciated
I thought about doing a factory reset/retune and found the following advice on Google but the only problem with it is when I press the home button and scroll there is no settings tab anywhere.Where do I find settings on the remote.
Hi muffin1947,
I'll look into this for you and see if I can find out. Someone else in the community may be able to advise in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
I'm not sure it will be any different but you could try re running "initial setup" in the main menu.
Your manual says:
Press the HOME button, then select [Settings] using the buttons.
Select [System Settings].
Select [General Set-up].
Select [Factory Settings].
Select [Yes] to reset all settings.
Select [Yes] again.
After completing this process, the initial set-up screen is displayed.
The geographical area is unfamiliar to me but I think you have to consider the possibility of reception issues and aerial alignment.
With all the current Freeview changes and retuning going on for the '700Mhz clearance' some transmitters have changed to different channel groups (nothing to do with TV channels you watch)... which may or may not apply to you. It basically means that older 'grouped' aerials that were optimal for one part of the band are sub optimal when used to receive channels in a different part of the band.
If the unwanted transmitter is at a low signal strength then you might get some joy from trying an attenuator in the aerial lead.
If you get nowhere then perhaps ask advice from a local aerial installation outfit and ask if this is a known issue in your area.
I agree with Mooly01, if the factory reset and then re-tuning in the initial setup doesn't solve the issue, then you most probably need to double check the equipment is still functional especially after the new changes to allow for the installation of 5G networks (which is mainly why the 700MHz range is being cleared).
Freeview engineering works shows "possible weak signal" for heathfield week commencing 13/7
I am still getting problem but am using my Humax box to watch any channels affected by this problem.Waiting for a answer from the Sony Community.
You got several.
What did your local aerial specialist say when you consulted him about the orientation of your terrestrial aerial, and the continued suitability of the aerial grouping it belongs in?
