Yes. I made the same experience. Oreo improves performance quite a bit by killing/suspending background apps much more often than Nougat in order to free up resources.
Solved it by using the app "Launch on boot"
This autostarts any selected app.
The Spotify connect service isn't killed/suspended even if I stress the OS heavily 😃
Spotify has however introduced a new issue:
When starting the Spotify app, autologon is disabled, so you have to tap ok to start the app, so whenever I turn on my TV, it will be stuck on the Spotify login screen awaiting a button press.
