Sky+HD box control partial only by Sony remote

I have recently purchase a Bravia XG9005 Tv and I am having issues controlling my sky box with the Sony remote, I can change channels & volume but when I select the guide button it opens the sky guide up and then it just sees to stop functioning and I can’t then get out of it using the “back” button on the Sony remote, I have to use the Sky remote to do this. I have to say I had a Samsung TV previously and the integration is not a patch on that unit, does anyone have any suggestions other than resetting as I’ve tried this numerous times with no success.

If you are using the TV as a monitor with input from the SKY box, would it not then be easier to use the SKY remote to control the TV?

I can use the sky remote as you say but it’s just annoying to keep swapping between remotes when switching to Netflix or YouTube etc, why offer a feature ie IR blaster if it’s not reliable.

Hi @Pimpo22   You should be able to get a free upgrade to Sky Q which has Netflix & YouTube built in.

Hi @Pimpo22   Yes (once the world gets back to normal) they are trying to get as many people as possible on to the new platform. Especially (but it will cost you more) if you start using the UHD capability that Sky Q offers to make use of your TV’s 4K. I changed to Sky Q 3 1/2 years ago.
